Another springtime girl fashion trend is also related to actual clothing, and that is the nautical inspired stripe.  Stripes are so in this year that they even managed to show up on an episode of Lost.  Adorable castaway Claire was wearing a close fitting striped t-shirt this season, a sparkling example of how cute you can look in stripes.  If even Claire on a deserted island knows that this is a girl fashion trend, we should all own a striped top!  Stripes are making the scene mostly in shirts, especially in classic, blue or black stripe varieties. First, you must own a headband.  The two main choices that are in style for girl fashion this season are both wide in styling, one option is a fabric headband and the other option is a headband made of a shell material.

Fabric headbands are getting an update for the spring season by arriving in a variety of bold colors and patterns all evoking the warm weather.  Look for tropical style flowers, retro plaids, and other bright colors and bold looks.  

The second girl fashion option for a headband is to go for a more classic shell look.  This is great for a girl who wants to be up with the latest trend, but is looking to wear this accessory to an office, for example.  Shell headbands give the feeling of spring and summer beach weather and are very wearable for almost all girls.

Girl fashion tips for wearing headbands are simple – take a page out of the book of Lauren from Laguna Beach and The Hills fame – and wear your long hair in a ponytail after you have appropriately placed your wide headband.  The headband is being worn in this way because it has gone from the old school style of holding back the hair, and is much less utilized.  Instead, headbands are now worn just for a pop of color and drama near the face, and are supposed to complement a hairstyle that is otherwise complete.

Finally, a great girl fashion trend that absolutely any girl can try and wear with success is all about the manicure and pedicure.  This season, girls are going for pastel, soft, pearlized colors.  It is a great way to say goodbye to the dark, winter shades we have all been wearing.

Soft, pastel nails work best for close, short nails.  If you are a fan of long, talons, this look will be too soft and demure for you.  If you are a girl with a job, especially one where you use a computer daily, this is a great girl fashion trend, because your manicure will hold up longer even if you spend all day typing.
